La participation des citoyens aux politiques publiques via le choix et le financement de projets territoriaux connaît, en France, une véritable envolée. 170 collectivités (dont 140 communes) ont ainsi adopté en 2020* un budget participatif : elles n’étaient que 7 pionnières en 2014. Au cours du mandat 2014-2020, ce nombre a doublé chaque année.
